I really like the paint pots. When I don't use the Urban Decay Primer Potion, it blends on my eye really easily. But it does start to cake up in the crease after a while [though not as quickly as most creamy shadows]. However, when I use the UD Primer, this stays put all day, no creasing at all. These are really fun to mix and match or just use as a simple base. The Rubenesque is a pinky-golden hue, it looks more pink in the pot but has a more golden finish on the eye. Because of the creasing without the primer, I'm going to give this a 4 out of 5.
How to get the look:
Weapons:
*Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion
*Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara
*Clinique Lash Building Primer
*Clinique Fresh Bloom Allover Colour in Peony
*MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque
*Sephora Eyeliner in Black #160
*Benefit Mr. Frosty
First I applied the UD Primer Potion over my entire lid. Then I highlighted my brow bone with the Mr. Frosty. I swirled my finger around once in the paint pot, then patted my finger all over my lid, starting at the outer corner of my lid and working my way inward. This deposits more of the color at the outer corner, giving depth to the eye. Usually I line my eyes with a smudge brush and the UD Eyeshadow in Oil Slick, but after trying that the first time I wore this I discovered it's not such a good idea. The powder doesn't lay evenly on this shadow and it catches the brush, making an uneven line. So instead I used my Sephora eyeliner to make a very thin line along my top lash line. A coat of Clinique Lash Primer and two coats of the Sephora Mascara and viola! Quick and easy! :) And with this eyeshadow I like to use the Clinique Peony as it compliments the golden tone of the Rubenesque.
That color is gorgeous on you!
